Abstract: This study investigates the benefits of outdoor education in promoting holistic development and learning outcomes among early childhood education (ECE) learners in Nigeria. The objective is to examine how outdoor play, nature exploration, and environmental education contribute to physical health, cognitive growth, and socio-emotional well-being during the formative years. A survey research design is employed to gather data from ECE educators, environmentalists, and health professionals across Kwara State. A purposive sample of 150 participants is selected based on their expertise in outdoor education and child development. Findings reveal that outdoor learning experiences, including sensory-rich environments, hands-on activities, and nature-based curriculum, enhance creativity, problem-solving skills, and overall developmental outcomes in young children. Recommendations advocate for integrated outdoor education in ECE curricula, teacher training in outdoor pedagogies, and policy support for creating safe and sustainable outdoor learning environments.
